We have year-round opportunities for our youth in Faith Formation and their families to get to know one another and the rest of the parish!

Annual Faith Formation Kickoff

Every year the week before Faith Formation begins, we host a Fall Faith Formation Kickoff. Everyone involved in any kind of Faith Formation at the parish--catechism, bible studies and more--is invited to attend. We grow in community, learn about the theme for this year and get excited to be back together learning about Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Truck-or-Treat

Every year around Halloween we hold a Trunk-or-Treat for our young people. All are welcome!

All Saints / Ash Wednesday Dinners

Every year we invite Faith Formation families to dinner on the night of All Saints Day, to celebrate this special day remembering the beauty of the Body of Christ. Our kids have a special role in Mass that evening, processing up with an image of their favorite Saint. 

Later in the year, on Ash Wednesday, we gather together for a meatless meal of grilled cheese and soup before heading over to Mass at 7PM. 

Christmas Pageant

Our kids are encouraged to take part in a Christmas paegant at the 4PM Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve, recalling the birth of Our Lord and giving our young people a chance to step into one of the greatest Mysteries of our Faith, the Feast of Christmas!

MLK Service Day

On MLK day our kids have a ton of fun growing in community making sandwiches for the less fortunate. These are then donated to St. Alyousius in downtown Detroit for their extensive ministry to the homeless.

This day has always been a great opportunity to reflect on how we can serve the community around us, even those we may never meet this side of heaven. 

Pancake Breakfasts

On the first Sunday of the month, every other month, STM hosts a pancake breakfast for the entire parish. This has turned into a great chance for kids and parents to help out and get to know one another. Our next Pancake Breakfast is May 5th! Come and flip pancakes with us, and see how fulfilling it is to be serve a happy, well-fed congregation! 

First Communion Rehearsal Dinner

First Communion is like a wedding--our spiritual marriage to Our Lord. So like any wedding, we hold a rehearsal dinner. The week of the Sacrament, we host dinner exclusively for those receiving First Commuion and their families. It is a great evening which recognizes the solemnity of the occasion and gives us a chance to show our love for our Sacrament-prep kids.

Graduation Mass

At a special Mass each year, we commenmorate all those graduating from any level of school -- kindergarden, elementary, middle school, high school or college. Let us know if you or someone you love will be graduating in the spring--come and receive a blessing on this special congratulatory occasion!
